Abstract A case of three months old graded Murrah male buffalo calf with history of bleeding from the oral cavity with a mass in the lower jaw teeth was studied. A greyish white irregular mass was noticed in the lower gums of left second incisor tooth. Histopathology of the incised mass revealed the characteristic features of acanthomatous ameloblastoma with formation of keratin, hyperplasia of surface epithelium with multifocal islands of ameloblastic cells protruding into the subepithelial layer. Basal epithelial layer in the islands were formed by ameloblastic cells showing palisading arrangement. Non-basilar epithelial cells were acanthocytes which were connected by prominent intercellular bridges. Based on the histopathological features the case was diagnosed as acanthomatous ameloblastoma.
