Occupational hazards and utilization of safety measures

Abstract

This study to assess the knowledge on occupational hazards and utilization of safety measure among registered nurses in a selected hospital at Kanyakumari district was undertaken with 225 samples. The research approach was descriptive research approach and the research design was quantitative exploratory descriptive design. Structured questionnaire used for assessing the knowledge on occupational of Hazards among Nurses. Rating scale used to assess the utilization of safety measures among nurses. The study findings revealed that majority 48.89% of nurse had good knowledge, 35.56% of nurse had average knowledge, and 15.56% of nurse had poor knowledge. The utilization of safety measures ranged from 19–57 with mean 36, and standard deviation 9.83. This showed asignificant difference in the level of knowledge of nurses on occupational hazards and utilization of safety measures.
