E-mail: wasimgreat2016@gmail.com Online published on 24 July, 2018. Abstract Omeka is an open source web publishing system for online digital archives. It was actually created for the purpose of storage and display of library, museum, archives, and scholarly collections and exhibitions. Its main focus/strength is producing websites and online exhibitions. Both the Web interface and back end cataloguing system are one unified application. The paper discussed about the archiving of digital objects with the open source content management software ‘Omeka’. This paper provides step by step guide for installation and configuration of Omeka software in Ubuntu 16.04 system in very simple and understandable way. The main purpose of the paper is to explore the ways in which digital technologies, virtual visualizations, and interactive media enhance the users learning experience with the help of Omeka software.
