Abstract The present investigation was carried out at Students’ Research Farm, Department of Agronomy, PAU, Ludhiana during spring season 2018 and 2019, respectively to evaluate the suitable seed priming and plant spacing which enhance the growth, yield, quality and productivity of spring groundnut. The experiment was laid out in split plot design with three plant spacings viz. 22.5 × 20.0 cm, 30.0 × 15.0 cm and 45.0 × 10.0 cm in main plot and five seed priming treatments i.e. consortium bio fertilizer, cow urine, vermicompost, vermiwash, consortium bio fertilizer + cow urine+ vermi compost+ vermiwash along with control in sub plots with four replications. The spring groundnut under 22.5 × 20 cm plant geometry recorded significantly higher number of pegs, filled pods plant−1, pod yield (47.2 q ha−1), haulm yield(108.9 q ha−1) and biological yield (156.2 q ha−1). Among seed priming treatments, significantly higher pod yield (49.6 q ha−1), haulm yield (110.9 q ha−1)and biological yield (160.6 q ha−1) were reported in consortium bio-fertilizer seed primed spring groundnut. The significantly higher gross returns, net returns and b: C ratio of were reported under 22.5× 20 cm plant geometry and in consortium biofertilizer seed primed treatment.
