Abstract The paper presents a historical perspective of Library and Information Science (LIS) education in India and traces the growth and development of the subject, emerging from the day of initiating. The study demonstrates and elaborates on the various aspects such as authorship patterns, rank of cited authors, implementing Lotka's Law and Bradford's law. The study focused the articles on LIS Education, which were published in various Journals.
