Abstract In this study community structure of collembola and their seasonal abundance was evaluated along a land use intensification gradient (from the agriculture land to the natural grass cover) in a central Indian semiarid landscape. The collembola community was dominated by few abundant species, generally Isotomidae. Total abundance was highest under agriculture land use, but species diversity was more in natural grassland, silvipasture and the cultivated pasture systems.
