Abstract

Dairy industry play very important role in life of rural area especially woman lived in rural area. Almost 70 per cent of the dairy farmers are either landless or small/marginal farmers, who own only one or two cattle. Dairying is more of a woman's job in rural areas. Their participation in animal husbandry activities are to the extent of 80–90 percent. They have high participation in operations of harvesting and chaffing of fodder, feeding animals, rearing of calves, bathing of animals and cleaning of sheds, taking sick animals to hospitals, treatment and also milking of animals. Women not only participate in farm activity but also take decision in farm. While doing all this activity and decision making women also facing problems like family ties, male dominated society, lack of education, social barriers etc.
