Extension personnel in developing countries are coming to accept that extension is fanner centered process. It is, thus, important for extension personnel to interact with farmers and involve them in identification of problems and their solutions. Extension programmes are based on the strong foundation of education aimed to help people to help themselves. Thus, extension personnel need to absorb not only technical skill but also the ability to communicate and work with the people. Professional skills that enable extension personnel to communicate effectively must be integral part of in-service training. Top |
