Abstract

Green house experiment was conducted at college of science, University of Salahaddin-Erbil, during winter season 2016-2017, to study the combination effect of five species of Rhizobial inoculation (Control, Bradyrhizobium sp. (Vigna), Rhizobium leguminosarumbv. viciae, BradyrhizobiumMungbean, Mesorhizobiumciceri and Rhizobium leguminosarumbvphaseoli) with three levels (30, 60, 90kg.donum−1) of NPK on physiological characteristics and chemical contents of leaves and yield components of two wheat species (Triticum aestivumcultivar Hawler2 and Triticum durum cultivar Seminto) by using factorial complete randomized design (Factorial CRD) with three replication. Interaction between chemical fertilizer, biofertilizer and wheat species significantly increased all physiological characters and all nutrient contents of leaf under study, total dry weight of plant at harvest, spike weight, grain number, grain yield, biological yield, harvest index,. As soon as combination between rhizobial bacteria with wheat species have positive effects on physiological characters, leaf nutrient contents and yield components, except spike length, spikelet number and weight of 1000 grain. However, interaction between chemical fertilizers with wheat species significantly increased some of parameters under study. The findings indicated that combines use of rhizobium bacteria with chemical fertilizer could be more effective to increase physiological parameters, leaf nutrient contents and yield components than the chemical fertilizer alone. From the results, it is suggested that the combination between the lower level of NPK fertilizer and rhizobial inoculation has the greatest effect on yield components. Also, different type of rhizobial bacteria could use as biofertilizer for improving wheat production.
